CFP: SUNYLA Midwinter Virtual Conference: Practical OER: Transitioning from Theory to Implementation (February 2, 2018)

Call for Proposals
SUNYLA Midwinter Virtual Conference: Practical OER: Transitioning from
Theory to Implementation

February 2, 2018 (Groundhog's Day!)

Everyone can agree that Open Education Resources are a good thing: decreasing the cost of textbooks can make education more accessible for more people. The SUNYLA Midwinter Virtual Conference planning committee is seeking proposals describing the ways that you’ve
actually implemented OERs at your institution, and how the library has been involved with that process. Do you have great ideas about how to promote OERs to your faculty and colleagues? Have you created OER repositories or guides that you think could be used as a model for other schools? Do you have success stories about collaborating with faculty to make campus-wide OER a reality? Can you recommend best practices for making sure students can get print copies of material if they need it? Share your experience with your colleagues at the SUNYLA Midwinter Virtual Conference on February 2, 2018 (10:00am - 2:30pm).

Presentations should be 15-20 minutes in length, in a format that best suits your topic.  Presentations should include a demonstration of how you’ve worked with OERs, what you’ve learned that other librarians should know, and any positive/negative feedback that you’ve received.

Technology requirements:  Computer, internet connection, microphone/speakers (headset recommended) or telephone, quiet space for presenting, webcam optional

Accepting proposals until Friday, December 8, 2017.  Submit your proposal here:
