2nd call for proposals for ALCTS preconferences and programs (ALA Annual 2012)

2nd call for proposals for ALCTS preconferences and programs (ALA Annual 2012)

The ALCTS Program Committee invites preconference and program proposals for ALA Annual 2012 in Anaheim, California. The dates of the 2012 conference are June 21-26.

If you're interested in planning a preconference or program, please complete the appropriate web form (see below).  We're especially looking for preconference proposals, but we're still accepting program proposals as well.

In 2012, ALCTS will begin offering both in-person and virtual preconferences. (A virtual preconference would likely consist of a series of 3-4 webinars in the weeks leading up to the Annual Conference.) In-person preconferences may be 1-day or 2-day events in Anaheim on the Thursday and Friday immediately before Annual.

The committee and ALCTS staff will help refine your ideas and coordinate logistics.  You don't need to have all the details when you initially fill out the proposal form.  And although programs or preconferences often originate with ALCTS sections or interest groups, they can also come from individuals or other groups.

Proposal forms are located at:

If you are interested in planning a virtual preconference, please indicate this in the "Additional Information" section of the proposal form.

More information about the planning process can be found at http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/alcts/mgrps/howto/plan/index.cfm

Preconference and program planners will need to meet with the Program Committee during Midwinter 2012.  Appointments with the committee usually take about 15 minutes.

Please submit proposals by August 15, 2011.  Contact any member of the ALCTS Program Committee with questions.
